Do you want to be part of the IoT revolution?
e-peas is a company founded in 2014 on the conviction the trillions of connected IoT nodes to be deployed in the next few years will require disruptive solutions to extend batteries lifetime. At e-peas, we believe new applications will ultimately be made possible by the combination of two approaches:
- Increasing the harvested energy provided to the system; and,
- Increasing the energy-efficiency of ICs (Integrated Circuits).
Relying on 10 years of research and its patented disruptive technologies, e-peas offers a portfolio of ICs including photovoltaic, RF, and thermoelectric harvester interfaces, as well as microcontrollers solutions.
What your mission will be?
You can start working with us by September 2024.
The trend today is for “Battery-free equipment” to be deployed on the edge. Despite this can be done using dedicated PMICs (Power Management Integrated Circuits) together with ULP (Ultra Low-Power) microcontrollers/microprocessors, it remains a substantial challenge to infer when the energy is available.Monitoring the amount of energy within a battery, or within an SC (Super-Capacitor), could be used to determine when an energy-greedy task should be initiated, or when it should be stopped.
Your mission will be to review the literature and to search for a software solution for both environments: bare-metal environment, or when an embedded OS (Operating System) is running.
You will work in a multicultural, and multidisciplinary, environment at the leading edge of the tech industry. The issues you will address are at the forefront of the present-day concerns, and the software you will design is expected to be released for production.
You will share your time between the University of Namur, within the research centre “PReCISE”, and the company located in Louvain-La-Neuve. Both are located at a walking distance of the train stations.
Who are you?
-
- You hold a Master degree in Computer Science, or in a related discipline, that opens access to the doctoral school in the field of computer science;
- You have a deep interest for the lowest abstraction layers, the hardware interfaces, and the communication protocols;
- A previous experience with microcontrollers/microprocessors (ARM architectures) is considered as an asset;
- You are fluent in C/C++ and you perfectly understand the Assembly language ;
- Knowledge of the CMSIS standard is a plus;
- You are fluent in English (French is a plus);
- You are able to work autonomously within a team;
- You are a passionate and committed person;
- You are quality minded;
- You easily communicate and share your ideas with others, you are able to adapt yourlanguage and to popularize complex concepts;
- You are sensitized to energy impacts of the IoT and IIoT sectors.
