March 2024

e-peas Secures €17.5 Million Funding for Accelerated Deployment

March 2024 witnessed a significant milestone for e-peas as it secured €17.5 million in funding to accelerate the deployment of its energy harvesting solutions. This funding underscored the groundbreaking technology developed by e-peas, enabling significant CO2 savings and reduced use of rare earth materials.

Launch of Energy Harvesting PMICs for Remote Control Units and Wireless Keyboards

In January 2024, e-peas unveiled the AEM00920 & AEM10920 PMICs optimized for remote control units and wireless keyboards at CES 2024. These fully-featured PMICs, powered by ambient energy, offered board designers seamless integration and maintenance-free operation.

August 2023

Introduction of Energy Harvesting PMIC for Dual Energy Sources

August 2023 marked the introduction of the AEM13920 PMIC by e-peas, offering the capability to handle two independent energy sources simultaneously. This pioneering PMIC provided valuable flexibility in deploying a mix of PV, RF, thermal, and kinetic energy sources for various applications.

e-peas’ PMICs Sent to the Moon for NASA Project

In July 2022, e-peas achieved a significant milestone as its PMICs powered hundreds of LunaSats in a University of Colorado/NASA project. These LunaSats, weighing just 5 grams each, utilized e-peas’ solar Ambient Energy Manager (AEM10941) for local and distributed science missions on the Moon.

Release of Constant Voltage PMICs for Energy Harvesting Arrangements

April 2022 saw the release of three new power management ICs (PMICs) by e-peas, providing developers with enhanced flexibility for implementing energy harvesting systems. These constant voltage PMICs offered greater scope and efficiency for intermittent input energy harvesting arrangements.

Launch of Versatile Buck-Boost ICs for Energy Harvesting

Expanding its portfolio of advanced power management ICs (PMICs), e-peas introduced versatile new buck-boost ICs in June 2021. These ICs, including the RF AEM30330, Vibration AEM30330, and solar AEM10330 PMICs, further pushed the boundaries of efficiency in energy harvesting from solar and vibrational sources.

Venture Capital Infusion Fuels e-peas’ Growth

In July 2020, e-peas marked a significant milestone by securing an additional Euro 8 million in venture capital funding. This infusion of capital positioned e-peas for long-term growth and solidified its reputation as a leading provider of advanced energy harvesting solutions.

Opens office in Switzerland

With the growing demand in energy harvesting solutions and deepening interest towards e-peas top performing AEMs, we have expanded to Switzerland, opening a new office in La Neuveville lead by such industry leading experts as Jean-Paul Bardyn and Christian Ferrier. e-peas was also win “Best Disruptive Innovation of the Year” Award.

Technology expansion

In 2018, significant step for e-peas growth – release of market leading next generation solar, thermal, vibration and RF energy harvesting chips with improved performances – AEM10941, AEM20940, AEM30940, AEM40940. e-peas was also named “Startup of the Year” by Digital Wallonia.

Pre-establishment phase: birth of a vision

After 10 years of research in the renowned electronic laboratory of the Université Catholique de Louvains, thanks to a seed investment from The Faktory our CEO – Geoffroy Gosset – and CTO – Julien De Vos created e-peas in December 2014.

Geoffroy Gosset

Geoffroy Gosset

CEO – Co-founder

Geoffroy Gosset received the Industrial Engineering degree from the Ecole Centrale des Arts et Metiers (ECAM), Belgium, in 2005, after pursuing his Master thesis research at Politechnika Warszawska, Warsaw, Poland and the M.Sc. degree in electromechanical engineering as well as the Ph.D. degree from the Université catholique de Louvain (UCL), Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, in 2007 and 2013 respectively.

In 2013 and 2014, he pursued a MBA at the Louvain School of Management.

Julien De Vos

Julien De Vos

CTO – Co-founder

Julien De Vos received the M.Sc.degree in electromechanical engineering in engineering science and the Ph.D. degree from Université Catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, in 2008, and 2013 respectively. In 2012, he was a visiting Ph.D student at STMicroelectronics, Crolles, France, in DC/DC converter design. In 2014, he received the ICTEAM Thesis Award for his Ph.D. work.

His research interests include low-power circuit design, wireless sensor networks, and DC/DC converters with a specific interest on switched-capacitor networks and on energy harvesters management.

Christian Ferrier

CMO – Chief Marketing Officer

Christian Ferrier is driving e-peas marketing strategy after 12 years in Semtech (SMTC). He is experienced in both the business and technical aspects of the IoT and IT marketplace and has years of experience in building strategic relationships with many successful outcomes.

Christian’s last years position was worldwide Product Marketing Director of LoRa’s 2.4GHz product line and director of the global EDA organisation at Semtech. Prior to that, he was the founder and CEO of Nexlink SA, Hosted and IT services.

Christian got his engineering degree from EIVD (CH) in 1999, EMBA from the university of Applied Sciences at HEG ARC and Certificate of Advanced Studies in company management (CH) in 2014.

Abdelali Lotfi comes with more than 25 years experience in the Semiconductor’s industry, through various major players such as MOTOROLA, STMicroelectronics, SOITEC, in which he managed several positions in worldwide manufacturing operations and supply chain area.

He also led the creation and the implementation of a full site (Nemotek Technologies) dedicated to micro camera modules products (WLCSP sensors + lenses) for Sharp and Lenovo, using TSV process.

Abdelali is graduated with an Engineer’s degree in Computer Science and Advanced Mathematics from the National Engineer’s School of Electronics & Computer Science of Toulouse-FRANCE.

Dan Harper is responsible for our Global Sales Strategy and ensuring that customers are delighted by e-peas’ solutions.

He has over thirty years of Global Sales experience in Europe, The US and Asia, working for companies such as Texas Instruments, Dialog Semiconductor, Telink and Kinetic Technologies.

Dan has a wealth of experience with customers in the IOT and connectivity space, going back to the early days of GSM handsets and has extensive knowledge of the connectivity ecosystem from BLE to Zigbee and Matter.

Dan earned his Bachelors Degree from the University of Leicester in The UK and his Executive MBA from Warwick Business School, he currently resides in Silicon Valley in California.
